1) Saturday, January 23rd, Marta Watson will have a social gathering for us at her home in Glendale. You will receive a flyer with
directions. She and Dave are gracious hosts, and we look forward to being with them after the holidays, but still in the holiday spirit.
2) Marta, Dave and Cynthia will look into future meeting places such as libraries, senior centers and other venues around Phoenix.
This plan is already underway as I write to you. Also, Lloyd told us he would ask his son if we could use his office in Tempe.
3) Meeting in Tempe would be a great plan for one of our meetings. Karla Martin generously offered to provide CART pro bono for a
meeting in her area.
4) Surprise is very far from Karla lives, and we were lucky to have her provide our captioning. Many of you at the meeting chipped in
for CART/our lunch. We appreciate your generosity too.
5) Michelle and Cynthia will see that we get 501(3) (c) non-profit status, so that any future contributions to ALDA-Sonora will be tax-
exempt. Michelle knows people who have done it in AZ and will look into beginning the process.
6) If you know of any links to other hearing loss organizations that would be good to put on the website, please email me at
7) We hope to attend a captioned movie or theater performance in March. Keep your eyes and ears open for what is available in
Phoenix area at this time.
Thank you all for your participation in ALDA-Sonora. Any comments, suggestions or questions are welcome. Please let me know if I
have forgotten to add something important. ALDAbest, Cynthia
